Political Courage. It’s in short supply these days. In Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, it’s been virtually nonexistent for decades. We are among the nation’s highest for income inequality, cost of living, poor healthcare outcomes, and ever-increasing economic devastation due to runaway climate change. We need new, courageous leadership in FL-23. We need Jen Perelman.

Conflicts Of Interest. A representative cannot simultaneously satisfy the desires of corporate special interests and the needs of working-class constituents. This is why we are running a 100% grassroots funded, people-powered campaign accepting ZERO dollars from corporations or corporate PACs. When elected, I will only answer to the constituents of FL-23, and not to corporate interests such as Big Sugar, Payday Lenders or the Fossil Fuel Industry.

For The People. We support Medicare For All because healthcare is a human right. Period. We support a Green New Deal because climate crisis is the single greatest threat of our lifetime & South Florida is Ground Zero for its catastrophic effects. We support comprehensive Criminal Justice Reform because legalizing marijuana and abolishing for-profit prisons will help break our district’s cycle of poverty, especially among people of color.

Real change IS possible.

It requires the courage of our convictions.

Meet Jen Perelman.

Attorney Jennifer Pilchick Perelman is a second-generation native Floridian, born and raised in North Miami Beach. She lives in Davie with her husband, Dr. Jason Perelman and their two teenage boys. From her earliest days of practicing law, Jen has fought for those who can’t fight for themselves. She has helped the poor and indigent receive proper counsel and helped young women receive a judicial bypass for an onerous process for their reproductive rights. Today, she Co-Chairs the Juvenile Justice Committee for the Broward League of Women Voters, works diligently in the community to restore the voting rights of disenfranchised citizens, and serves pro bono, as Of Counsel, to Probation Station to help people on probation as they transition out of the system.

On the issues.

Medicare For All

Healthcare is a human right. The Coronavirus pandemic has further exposed the vulnerabilities in our healthcare system. Medicare for All would guarantee healthcare for everyone.

Criminal Justice Reform

Our justice system is not in accordance with its motto “Justice For All”. We need to abolish for-profit prisons, and invest in our communities and people, not mass incarceration.

Combating Climate Change

We need to take substantial action NOW to protect our planet. Sea level is on the rise and in South Florida, our coastline is eroding.⁣ We need clean energy alternatives for a sustainable future.

Economic Reform

We need to have an economy that works for all, not just the billionaires. We need to raise the minimum wage, close the tax loopholes, and take a look at universal basic income.

Israel

The Israeli state has a right to exist, with a 2 state solution as the ultimate goal. Israelis and Palestinians should be entitled to the same security, and peace.

Investing in Public Education

We need tuition-free college and trade schools to compete on a global scale and cancel student debt. Our public school teachers have played such a pivotal role during the COVID-19 crisis and we need to look after our teachers better.

Vote-by-Mail

What is Vote-by-Mail

Jen Perelman wants you to be aware of your options when it comes to voting. Vote-by-mail refers to voting a ballot received by mail or picked up by or for a voter instead of going to the polls to vote during early voting period or Election Day. Except on Election Day, no excuse is needed to vote a vote-by-mail ballot. Unless otherwise specified, a request to receive a vote-by-mail ballot covers all elections through the end of the calendar year for the second ensuing regularly scheduled general election. A vote-by-mail ballot that is returned undeliverable cancels a request for future elections and must be renewed.
